About Carly

As Clinical Director of the Nonprofit at Grace Therapy and Wellness Center, I oversee clinical operations with a focus on ethical integrity, high-quality care, and meaningful clinician support. My role bridges direct clinical work, supervision, training, and program development, allowing me to guide both individual practitioners and the broader organization toward sustainable, values-aligned practice. I bring a systems-oriented lens to leadership, grounded in extensive experience across community mental health, private practice, and higher education.

In my work with clients, I take a collaborative, thoughtful, and transparent approach. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel deeply understood while also being supported in making meaningful, goal-directed change. Sessions focus on increasing insight, strengthening emotional regulation, and translating awareness into real-world action. I work from an integrative framework that is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and evidence-driven, tailoring interventions to each client’s history, goals, and nervous system needs.

I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, substance use, and major life transitions. I have a strong background in substance use treatment and extensive experience working with individuals and couples within the queer community. My work centers on helping clients examine patterns that no longer serve them, build self-trust, and create lives that feel authentic, grounded, and sustainable.

In addition to my clinical work, I am deeply invested in clinician education, mentorship, and professional development. I teach graduate-level courses at Northeastern Illinois University and remain actively involved in training clinicians to think critically, integrate theory with practice, and navigate complex clinical dynamics with confidence and integrity. I am currently working toward my AASECT sex therapy certification to further support individuals and couples in navigating intimacy and sexuality with care and integrity.

My supervision style is relational, reflective, and grounded in accountability. I strive to create a space where clinicians can openly explore clinical uncertainty, countertransference, burnout, and ethical dilemmas without shame. Supervision is collaborative and developmentally attuned, balancing support with thoughtful challenge to foster clinical depth, confidence, and long-term sustainability in the field.

At the core of my work is a belief in meaningful, well-supported growth. Whether through therapy, supervision, teaching, or leadership, I am committed to helping individuals and clinicians move toward clarity, agency, and lives that feel aligned with who they truly are.
