Counseling based

A reason to utilize a therapist for mediation rather than a lawyer is that we possess high-level counseling skills such as active listening, conflict resolution, attachment theory, multidirectional partiality, and social justice awareness and considerations. There are 7 stages of mediation, including problem identification, generation of options, decision-making, and agreement.

Affordable

Lawyers and mediation firms often charge $400+ per hour for their services, making them inaccessible to many. As therapists, we offer these services covered through your health insurance or out of pocket with sliding scale options. As a reminder, mediation is not a legally binding process but can provide a way forward for parties.

Short-term

Mediation is not like traditional therapy in that it is more solution-oriented and can take less time. Each person’s case is unique, but lasting solutions can be gained within 4-10 hours of work depending on the complexity, number of issues, and personalities involved. Mediation is not for everyone and our therapists will assess this at the start.
