About Charli

When people decide to seek counseling, it’s often in a moment of crisis. Maybe they realize their coping mechanisms have stopped working and want to try something different. Whatever the reason, people want to be heard and seen without judgment. My goal is to provide that experience. In our work together, we’ll uncover what behaviors no longer serve you and what they’ve been protecting. I’ll challenge you without shame, expand your emotional vocabulary, and create corrective experiences that help you be vulnerable and share your authentic self.

As a lifelong learner and avid reader, I’ve always been curious about the human condition. Immersing myself in diverse experiences and learning from a range of perspectives has always inspired me. I felt the pull earlier in my life to do counseling work, but I recognized I had a lot of inner work to do before I could be of service to others. Previously, I worked as a freelance writer and editor before pivoting to full-time parenthood. Now I’m making my career comeback as a counselor, after years of being a mental health advocate in my personal life.

My work leans heavily on person-centered and relational-cultural theories, as I strongly believe humans are wired for connection and benefit from growth-fostering relationships. In counseling, this means I approach our relationship with openness, curiosity, and mutuality. And as someone who appreciates humor and whimsy, I welcome the chance to incorporate laughter and pop-cultural references in our work. Together, we’ll normalize mental health and find long-term solutions that work for you.
