To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.

About Emily

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck on a rollercoaster? Like you’re caught in this unpredictable cycle, you don’t have control over your own life, and no matter how hard you try, you always end up falling again with this sense of dread, panic, or emptiness? We can start to change that so you can interrupt this cycle, gain trust in yourself, and healthily bear the inevitable lows that life brings you without them being catastrophic. Whether you want to process complex trauma, learn how to better regulate your emotions, or reevaluate your relationship with others, with yourself, or with substance use, we’ll work on it together. You’ll gain confidence in setting and maintaining boundaries, respond more often than you impulsively react, and feel more grounded and calm in the present moment.
I work with adults, teenagers, and people in relationships. Together, we’ll unravel the web of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so we can explore the patterns causing distress in your life and develop practical tools for you to access when you need them. My philosophy is rooted in harm reduction, which helps me create a curious, nonjudgmental, and safe therapeutic space that understands the reality of being human.
As a queer and gender nonconforming therapist, I especially value working with LGBTQ+ clients, clients navigating addiction, and clients whose access to quality care has been limited by social or economic factors. I deeply believe that healing and growth are not only possible but also have an exponential impact on individuals and systems at large. Get started with me by reaching out with your questions or by scheduling a free, 15-minute phone consult to see if we’re a good fit.
