“Because, before self-love becomes a liberation, it is first a burden. ”
Are you feeling stuck in conflict cycles with your partner, struggling to communicate productively, or overwhelmed by your own internal experiences? Maybe you’re trying to regulate emotions that feel too big or too distant, processing grief, or exploring your Queer identity. As a gay man I too have had relationship struggles, grieved death, and explored my identity, so you don’t have to go through these experiences alone. Whether you’re seeking support in your relationship, exploring who you are, or experiencing major life transitions, I offer a space where you can express yourself, reflect, and be heard.
In session I care deeply about attuning to you and encouraging your healing process by asking meaningful questions. I love creating a safe and vulnerable space for change. And why can’t therapy also include humor, or even be fun? Therapy can be very hard work, but we can also look for the beautiful moments we can celebrate throughout the process.
I specialize in treating relationship struggles, grief, and major life transitions. These can stem from traumatic experiences, death, career changes, exploring sexual/gender identities, belonging, and so much more. I approach everyone with a systemic lens so our work can incorporate you or your relationship in the context of important identities and relational dynamics. I use numerous theories, methods, and interventions to address complex trauma, facilitate healing, and build connection.
I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience from Nebraska Wesleyan University and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Please reach out to schedule a 15-minute consultation call if you are interested in working together. I’m supervised by Johanna Winter-Harper, AMFT, LPC.
