"Healed hearts can quiet troubled minds."
Dr. Anita Phillips
I serve as a Clinical Director for Grace Therapy and Wellness Center, where I provide clinical leadership, oversight, and supervision in alignment with our commitment to ethical, equitable, and high-quality care. I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My work as both a clinician and leader is grounded in collaboration, integrity, and respect for the therapeutic process.
In my work with clients, I believe healing relationships are built on genuine connection, trust, understanding, and an openness to transformation. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, creating a space where clients feel empowered to share their stories and actively participate in their healing. Through compassion, curiosity, and grace, I support clients in increasing self-awareness, exploring patterns, and developing practical tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and intentional change.
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. As a proud bilingual Latina, my identity and lived experience deeply inform my clinical work. I am especially passionate about working with BIPOC adolescents, individuals, and families to decolonize therapy and address the impact of systemic oppression on mental health. Our work often explores how past experiences connect to present beliefs and behaviors, shaping how we view ourselves, our relationships, and our future possibilities. I strive to help clients reclaim agency and redefine narratives in ways that feel authentic and empowering.
I utilize an integrative approach rooted in person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and narrative therapies. I bring a multicultural and socially conscious lens to my work, intentionally working to deconstruct stigma and honor the cultural, relational, and historical contexts that shape each client’s experience. I believe clients are active participants in their healing and collaborate with them to create plans of action aligned with their values and identities.
In addition to my clinical work, I provide clinical supervision and leadership within the for-profit practice. My supervision style is collaborative, reflective, and supportive, with an emphasis on ethical decision-making, self-awareness, and sustainable clinical practice. I aim to create a space where clinicians feel safe to explore challenges, strengthen their clinical voice, and grow with confidence.
Whether working with clients or supporting clinicians, I am committed to fostering an environment rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and meaningful transformation.
