At the heart of it, I think therapy is a process fueled by curiosity. I believe that deepening your understanding of past experiences can contextualize what’s happening in your current situation, creating a path toward progress and healing. Curiosity and understanding can only go as far as our level of trust, which I try to earn from our first interaction. Therapy offers us a chance to collaborate on the issues you’re facing. I think of my training simply as tools you and I can use to explore your lived experiences and foster change.

In session I work to acknowledge the systemic barriers fueled by white supremacy that limit the progress of people of Color and those within the LGBT+ community. I also recognize my own privilege. I aim to dismantle systems of societal oppression and ensure you feel seen and heard. I care deeply about attuning to you and encouraging your healing process by asking meaningful questions and creating a space where safety and vulnerability can thrive. You can count on me to introduce some humor and occasional colorful language into our sessions. This is an opportunity to invest in your personal or relational growth. Therapy can be very hard work, but I’m also looking for the beautiful moments we can celebrate throughout the process.

I specialize in treating anxiety, complex trauma, and depression, with a particular focus on relationships and individuals from the LGBT+ and BIPOC communities. I enjoy working with people navigating things like the coming out process, relational struggles, exploring their sexual and gender identities regardless of age, consensual/ethical non-monogamous relationships, intersectional difficulties, racial/intergenerational trauma, belonging, and more.

I have advanced training in couples therapy, Internal Family Systems, attachment-based therapy, and EMDR, which I use to help clients resolve complex emotional challenges. I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience from Nebraska Wesleyan University and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Please reach out to schedule a 15-minute consultation call if you are interested in working together. I am supervised by Grace Martin, LMFT, Founder of the practice and AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
